WI's GOP US Reps find federal $$ they like

Of course Western Wisconsin needs and deserves federal assistance after devastating flooding, but wouldn't it be nice if Wisconsin's GOP members of Congress who pressing along with their Democratic counterparts, for federal dollars would tone down or deep six their ideological, anti-big guvmint rhetoric and voting records.

* You know, like when GOP Cong. Glenn Grothman pitches himself to voters this this way:

I’ll fight to rein in the size and scope of government.

* Maybe he or his consultants swiped that from Gop. Cong. Sean Duffy, who had said earlier:

DUFFY VOTES AGAIN TO REIN IN SIZE AND SCOPE OF FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

* Or both took their inspiration from the record of state's senior Cong. Jim Sensenbrenner:

Government is too big, too intrusive, too easy with money.
Sensenbrenner signed the Contract with America:

Require all laws that apply to the rest of the country also apply equally to the Congress;
Select a major independent auditing firm to conduct a comprehensive audit of Congress for waste, fraud, and abuse;
Cut the number of House committees, and cut committee staff by one-third;
Limit the terms of all committee chairs;
Ban the casting of proxy votes in committee;
Require committee meetings to be open to the public;
Require a three-fifths majority vote to pass a tax increase
Guarantee an honest accounting of our federal budget by implementing zero baseline budgeting.
