Its president Datuk Khairul Annuar Abdul Aziz told The Star Online that the association is aware of a message on the so-called fuel price increase circulating on social media, but said it is unverified.
He however added that PDAM is anticipating an increase in fuel prices in February.
"Based on our calculation and prediction, we see a possibility of an increase for February.
"But the final say is up to the Government. The official numbers will only be out much later in the evening, after 8pm," he added.
As of January, RON95 petrol was priced at RM2.10 per litre, RON97 at RM2.40 and diesel at RM2.05.
The message circulating on social media claims that RON95 will go up by 15 sen for February, while RON97 will see an increase of five sen and diesel price will be increased by 20 sen.
The Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry has set fuel prices on a managed float system since Dec 1, 2014, following the removal of subsidies.
