SAPP and its partners PCS and STAR in Gabungan Sabah headed by its chairman Datuk Hj Mohd Noor Mansoor will announce their reply on the invitation on January 23.
SAPP secretary-general Datuk Richard Yong We Kong asks if this latest review committee chaired by Teo will suffer the same fate as the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) Technical Committee chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan.
“Two years ago, Datuk Mohd Noor, Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, Datuk Wilfred Bumburing, Datuk Yong Teck Lee and other senior figures of the opposition had met with the RCI Technical Committee chaired by Pairin in the presence of the State Secretary, Federal Secretary, Attorney General, and the directors of Immigration and National Registration Departments.
“Written submissions were later submitted.
“After two years, nothing has come out and Pairin is retiring soon.
“What is there to think that the Teo Chee Kang’s committee will not suffer the same fate as the Pairin’s committee?
“Is this committee not a tactic to delay and eventually bury the people’s demand for full autonomy?” asked Richard in a statement yesterday. - BP
