Malays continue to support Umno for privileges

PETALING JAYA (MySinchew) - A recent Merdeka Center survey shows that almost three quarters of Malaysians are worried about the state of the country's economy, with six out of ten Malaysians and more than three quarters of Muslims concerned about inflation.

Merdeka Center director Ibrahim Suffian said even though the survey showed that majority of Malaysians were worried about the economy, many Malays would continue to be loyal to BN and Umno to safeguard their privileges because they felt that there was not a better alternative to BN.

Meanwhile, most Chinese Malaysians feel that BN is the source of the country's economic plight. Compared to inflation, 47% of them are more concerned about the issue of corruption in this country.
