See the fresh information at the bottom about the unfolding power play in the Sheboygan, where that city aims to quickly annex a chunk of the neighboring Town of Wilson to enable conversion by chain saw and bulldozer of a nature preserve along Lake Michigan - - including acreage in a state park - - into a groundwater-sucking, fertilizer-demanding, traffic-attracting high-end golf course.

Friends of the Black River Forest, trying to save this 247-acre Lake Michigan nature preserve
from being deforested, filled and graded for a golf course, sends these alerts about the proposed annexation of the property and more to the City of Sheboygan - - an annexation that will repress local opposition and preservation activity in the Town of Wilson where the nature preserve is located:
Please Attend Monday, June 19, 6 p.m:
The City of Sheboygan Common Council will have a council meeting open to public comment on the proposed annexation of 750 acres of the Town of Wilson and Kohler Andrae State Park.
The City of Sheboygan Plan Commission approved a change of zoning and annexation plan for Town of Wilson and state park land without discussion on May 30 and has sent their recommendations to the Common Council.

Update:
CITY ADDS ANNEXATION VOTE TO MONDAY AGENDA
Please Attend Monday, June 19, Sheboygan City Hall. Rally outside City Hall against annexation begins at 5p.m. Council Meeting begins at 6 p.m.
VOTE NO ON ANNEXATION and ZONING
The City of Sheboygan Common Council will allow only 5 people to speak on agenda items. There will be a public hearing on zoning within the meeting during which the public may comment for 3 minutes on zoning. While this is zoning, it is related to the annexation. We believe the public should speak out on this.
