Tuesday music: If you only listen to American music, you just suck

I'm going to stick with an implicit theme from yesterday.  People in this country focus on deaths from "mass" shootings as though they amount to much in the big picture.  Do you have any idea how many people die of malaria in countries like Guinea?  Remember when they were hit by the ebola outbreak?  Probably not.  It didn't involve an ooooh-scaaary gun, and more importantly, they weren't Americans, so who the fuck cares, right?

Malaria is a big problem in Guinea.  You know how to prevent it?  Mosquito nets.  Nets are cheap.  Distributing them is easy, if only we gave a flying fuck about them.  It's easier for some to rant and rave about guns, though.

If you actually care about saving lives, mosquito nets and water sanitation in impoverished countries.  WHO statistics on that shit (quite literal, in the latter case) are fucking terrifying.  But not to us, so fuck 'em, right?

Anyway, here's Guinean kora player, Djeli Moussa Diawara's "FlamenKora," from the album of the same name.
