Vukmir would stick taxpayers with new $150 million annual tab

but she just got her agreeable State Senate colleagues to pony up a fresh ton of our money every year on costly prison expansion.
Senate Bill 54 would require the Department of Corrections to recommend revoking probation, parole or extended supervision for anyone under its purview charged with a new crime. The Department of Corrections estimates the proposal would increase the prison population by nearly 4,600 and cost taxpayers $149.4 million more a year.
