Walker extends tax holiday three days, $3 million

What's a poll-challenged Republican facing a blue wave to do but give away more public money as the election draws near? If we had December elections, he'd be handing out turkeys.
Gov. Scott Walker on Tuesday used his veto power... extend the sales tax holiday from two to five days, between Aug. 1 and Aug. 5, when he signed legislation in Waukesha that also provides families with school-age children a $100 tax rebate per child.
Extending the holiday will cost an extra $3 million according to Walker's office... now estimated to cost $14.8 million.
It's an ideal holiday paid for with other people's money. Party on, Scott.
