Even his ex-WisDOT Secretary knows Walker is Gov. Pothole

About our crumbling roads and suspended highway projects:

Former GOP State legislator and ex-Walker WisDOT Secretary Mark Gottlieb says Walker gets the blame.
Former DOT head is Scott Walker's chief critic on transportation
The results of [state[ commissions are clear in their acknowledgement of a problem Walker no longer recognizes: the state’s roads are in trouble and fixing them is going to cost more and more the longer the state waits, according to the 2013 Transportation Finance and Policy Commission report....
Gottlieb stands by the work of the commissions and said Walker’s decision not to increase investment or raise revenue is “a failure, a lack of willingness to acknowledge the consequences of that decision.”
Walker had worked since 2003 to put Wisconsin in the road-building hole before turning over WisDOT to Gottlieb in 2010 without any intention of keeping up with highway necessities - - let alone transit.

I'd noted the tension between Governor and appointee when Gottlieb quit in 2016 after serving throughout Walker's tenure.

Give Gottlieb credit for highlighting the flawed essence of Walker's practice and personality - - intransigence when counter-productive, self-serving preservation over public needs, and blind commitment to the Koch brothers/Grover Norquist no-new-taxes-ever ideology over common sense.

So parents this election year can spend their $100-per-child tax rebate on post-pothole new tires. and truckers slowed by stalled SE WI freeway rebuilding can burn it up on extra fuel.
