The best email was the abortion email. I've been saying, over and over again, that Kavanaugh is lying about abortion. The gist is this: the "settled law" thing is a bullshit smokescreen, and the email pretty much showed it. Kavanaugh's 2003 email rejected calling Roe v. Wade "settled law" because it can be overturned by the Supreme Court, and there were Justices who wanted to do so. He is now nominated for just such a position. Now, he says it's "settled law." He's trying to pull some weaselly bullshit about how he just didn't want to use the phrase in 2003 for technical reasons in that context because others would contest it, but it's a phrase he's fine using for himself, and blah, fucking, blah, but the point is that the phrase is a dodge. Motherfucker's caught. In writing. As a Supreme Court Justice, he'll be in a position to overturn any ruling he sees as incorrectly decided, and we all know he thinks Roe was incorrectly decided. He lauded Rehnquist's dissent... enough of the bullshit. He's caught.
Now, watch what Susan Collins does. Listen to that annoying warble in her voice. That's the sound of gears grinding in a semi-functioning brain as an idiot gets duped. She said she wouldn't vote for anyone who would vote to overturn Roe. Watch her twist herself into knots as she votes to confirm this craven liar, who calls Roe "settled law" to satisfy the idiot from Maine, after writing in a 2003 email that they shouldn't call it "settled law." Why? Because the phrase is just enough to dupe Collins, while coded enough to show the conservatives that he's a true hardliner, just like they expected from Trump as part of the deal to support him.
Brett Kavanaugh: craven liar. You know, I started this before the emails 'n things came out, and this has just turned out beautifully.
One more quick note about Kavanaugh's lies. He claimed that he believes presidents need to comply with subpoenas 'n things. Yesterday, I wrote about how Kavanaugh will help protect Trump from any legal actions. What's going on here? Either Kavanaugh will come up with some "this case is special" excuse for Donny-boy, or just brazenly rule otherwise should any case make it to him on the Court. He's lying. Remember, there's no way Trump would have picked him unless Trump were absolutely sure that Kavanaugh would side with him in anything Mueller-related. This is the only thing on his little Trump-brain.
Oh, Kamala, if only you could get a straight answer... You didn't really expect one, did you? She didn't accomplish much, but she's kind of badass, isn't she? Does anyone remember what she did to little Jeffy Sessions? That was fun too. Like I said, she's kind of badass.
