Friday music: In memory of Dr. John

I skipped over Leon Redbone, and that's on me, but...

OK, shit.  Dr. John just died.

Dr. John.  That name pops up in music posts around here semi-regularly because...

Damn, he was great.

On Fridays, I post jazz, and Dr. John existed in the New Orleans netherworld between blues, jazz, funk and his own weird, psychedelic voodoo whatever, since nobody to this day can figure out how to classify Gris-Gris.  (Did anyone catch that term from a post a few days ago?)  Today?  Let's go with a pair of numbers from the first of two albums he did with Bluesiana Triangle.  That's a trio with The Night Tripper, David Fathead Newman (of Ray Charles fame), and Art Blakey.

Yes, the Art Blakey.

Two obvious tracks call.  "Life's a One-Way Ticket," and, "When the Saints Go Marchin' In."
