China 'Refused To Give WHO Scientists Raw Data On The First 174 Covid Cases Identified In Wuhan

 


 * A WHO team has been in China for a month-long Covid-19 fact-finding mission 
 * But a lack of data potentially complicated efforts to learn how outbreak began 
 * The team had requested raw patient data on the 174 cases of COVID-19 
 * However, they were only provided with summaries said Dominic Dwyer, an Australian infectious diseases expert who is a member of the team 
 * His comments come a day after WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the theory Covid-19 originated from a Wuhan lab remains 'open' 

China refused to give raw data on early COVID-19 cases to a World Health Organization-led team probing the origins of the pandemic, one of the team's investigators said. 

The lack of data potentially complicating efforts to understand how the outbreak began over a year ago, after it was first detected in China's Wuhan. 

The team had requested raw patient data on the 174 cases of COVID-19 that China had identified from the early phase of the outbreak in Wuhan in December 2019, as well as other cases.
