Daily Mail: Where's Kamala, the 'last person in the room' on Afghanistan? VP Harris hasn't had a public event in six days, has only been seen on Biden's Camp David call, didn't join his press conference and is still planning to go to Asia on Friday

* Vice President Kamala Harris hasn't held a public event in six days and has limited events on her public schedule since last week

* Noticeably, Harris did not join President Joe Biden for his Afghanistan remarks on Monday, with the White House saying she watched from the 'green room'

* The vice president, however, almost always joins Biden for his public remarks

* She was also boasted of being the 'last person in the room' when Biden decided in April that he would withdraw US troops by September 11

* Harris also still plans to leave on Friday for her second foreign trip as vice president to Singapore and Vietnam as chaos in Afghanistan unfolds

* Harris held her last public event on August 12 and joined Biden over his right shoulder for his remarks on infrastructure on August 10

* She also was pictured in a Zoom call with Biden and others on August 15 discussing Afghanistan

Kamala Harris typically stands over President Joe Biden's shoulder when he addresses the nation. But she decided to skip his speech on the chaos surrounding the Afghanistan withdrawal and has not held a public event in six days - despite boasting she was the 'last person in the room' when the president decided to pull U.S. troops.

Rather than taking her usual spot behind Biden's right shoulder as he updated the nation on the situation in Afghanistan and defended his decision to withdraw troops on Monday, the vice president watched the speech 'from the Green Room', according to a White House official.

Harris also still plans to depart on Friday for her second foreign trip in office to Singapore and Vietnam, her office confirmed, despite the ongoing chaos and the comparisons between the fall of Saigon in 1975 and the toppling of Kabul by the Taliban over the weekend.

In view of thousands of Americans now trapped in Afghanistan. If she and her staff have any brains, her trip to Asia this week should be immediately cancelled.
