President Joe Biden will talk to his Russian counterpart on Thursday, the White House announced, amid continuing alarm at Russia's military buildup on its shared border with Ukraine.
The two leaders will hold a phone call 'to discuss a range of topics, including upcoming diplomatic engagements with Russia,' said National Security Council spokesperson Emily Horne.
The call, scheduled for Thursday afternoon, will be the second direct contact between Biden and Putin this month as the U.S. looks to pressure Russia to draw down its military threat to Ukraine.

I do not have a good feeling on what is going to be discussed. A part of me has the uneasy feeling that Putin is going to tell Biden that if the scheduled January 12 security talks show no progress (link here), this is how the Kremlin is going to respond.
