President Biden is slated to speak with Chinese President Xi on Friday Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov was allegedly on a flight headed to Beijing Thursday, but the plane turned around midway and flew back toward Moscow, according to German newspaper Bild.
The plane allegedly turned around while over Novosibirsk, a city in Siberia, according to Bild. Fox News Digital has been unable to independently verify the outlet’s report.

Update: Lavrov Flew to Beijing But Suddenly Diverted Board to Moscow (Charter 97)
WNU Editor: There is a lot of confusion behind this report. There was a plane flight from Moscow that stopped at Novosibirsk, and then turned around (see here). Nothing new there. Flights come and go all the time.
There are also reports that Lavrov was having talks with the UAE foreign minister in Moscow at the same time that this plane was in the air (link here).
So what is up?
My guess is that everyone is watching everyone else very closely right now, and a lot of people are making a lot of assumptions with little if any evidence. My favorite rumor that is making the rounds on Russian social media is that Putin is in a nuclear bunker. There is no evidence that he is, but it is easier to believe that he is in a bunker rather than not.
