WNU Editor: The attack by Hamas on October 7th was different in many ways(the size of the attack and the high civilian casualty numbers and kidnapped Israelis). Israel's declaration of war while making it a commitment to completely wipe out Hamas was also new and unprecedented.
Bottom line. Israel is facing urban and attrition warfare coupled with astronomical casualty numbers. And when completed, Gaza is going to look like what Mosul looked like after the Iraqi army was successful in wiping out ISIS.
So yes. Israel’s long war ahead will be nothing like what it’s faced before
