Fake ear bandages have become a distinctive fashion trend during this week's Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where participants are wearing them as a show of support for Donald Trump.

Trump showed up at the convention with a big bandage covering the spot on his right ear where a potential assassin's bullet grazed him during a rally on Saturday."We're assisting President Trump in creating a novel fashion statement," stated Susan Ellsworth, the delegate from Arizona. "We are supporting him in his time of need due to his injury. We simply want him to understand how much we cherish him."

The four-day convention will come to an end on Thursday night when Trump gives a prime-time speech in which he formally accepts the party's nomination to run against Democrat Joe Biden in their rematch in 2020.

With a bandage covering his right ear, Delegate Michael Schafer noted that the style was not exactly the same as the popular red "Make America Great Again" hat.
